Halau Orientation Workshops
provide prospective students and parents (of keiki and 'opio students) with a formal introduction
and orientation to Halau Palaihiwa O Kaipuwai and its kumu hula, Kehaulani Kekua.
Enrollment to the halau is opened only 2 times a year in January and July for prospective
students interested in registering for hula study.  Halau Orientations are held prior to the start of
its semester of classes.  Come and meet our kumu and talk story with us about enrolling
yourself, your keiki or `ohana in enriching experiences offered through Halau Palaihiwa O
Kaipuwai. Learn about the different classes and curriculum that is available, and familiarize
yourself with the halau's standards and traditions.  No experience required.

The halau's history and teaching philosophy is shared, as well as all policies, procedures and
standards of Halau Palaihiwa O Kaipuwai.  As a traditional hula school, the halau and its kumu
hula strive to perpetuate hula as a specialized discipline and art form of cultural excellence.  An
overview of the halau's annual events, cultural learning excursions, retreats and more will also
be highlighted.

All new students and parents of minor students are required to attend one of the scheduled
Halau Orientation & Enrollment Workshops.  There is NO CHARGE or OBLIGATION to attend
this informational gathering.
