Hälau Orientation Workshops
provide prospective students and parents (of keiki and 'öpio students) with a
formal introduction and orientation to Hälau Palaihiwa O Kaipuwai and its
kumu hula, Këhaulani Kekua.
The hälau's history and teaching philosophy is shared, as well as all policies,
procedures and standards of Hälau Palaihiwa O Kaipuwai. As a traditional
hula school, the hälau and its kumu hula strive to perpetuate hula as a
specialized discipline and art form of cultural excellence. An overview of the
hälau's annual events, cultural learning excursions, retreats and more will also
be highlighted.
All new and returning students are required to attend one of the scheduled
Hälau Orientation & Enrollment Workshops. There is NO CHARGE or
OBLIGATION to attend this informational gathering.
