| Oli: The Art of Hawaiian Chant February 17 - April 7, 2009 Hale Aloha in Wailua Uka Papa Oli I Registration for enrollment to a 8 week introductory course in the Art of Hawaiian Chant is now available. No prior experience necessary. Participants will receive instruction in vocal techniques and application of different chant styles. A repertoire of mele oli, mele pule and other aspects of ancient oral traditions will be used in this study course. Registration Closed Papa Oli II Registration for enrollment to a 8 week beginning course in the Art of Hawaiian Chant - Part II is now available to those who have already completed the Papa Oli I course. Additional requirements include memorization of selected chants from Papa Oli I and satisfactory completion of course summary and basic vocabulary exams. Interested persons should contact the Kaua`i Heritage Center for requirements.
